The Capital plans to organize celebration of New Year holidays this year as well

Podgorica, the Capital, plans to organize a celebration of New Year's holidays on Independence Square (Trg nezavisnosti) this year as well, in cooperation with partners.

Taking into account the fact that we are facing a coronavirus pandemic and that the situation is changing daily, the competent services of the Capital are obliged to adapt all planned program activities to the new situation, i.e. to respect all measures prescribed by the competent health institutions.

In this regard, the Capital has initiated a series of procedures to meet the organization of this event in case its holding becomes possible at a given time. With that aim, the Tourist Organization of Podgorica (TOP) has announced a tender for the selection of partners in the organization, which refers to the production of events and technical support, and after the necessary parliamentary procedure, TOP will start announcing a public call for renting wooden houses.

We emphasize that the Capital, in order to protect its own interests, but also the interests of potential partners, has provided a clause related to the cancellation of part of the organization in case of a complication of the epidemiological situation.

We remind you that the Capital City launched the Holiday Market of Podgorica event two years ago, dedicated to the celebration of New Year's holidays, modeled on all major European and world centers, which was accepted with great sympathy by our fellow citizens and Podgorica’s visitors, but also smaller entrepreneurs and local artists to which this concept of organization provides an opportunity to promote in the main city square.
