Podgorica part of the regional initiative “Tree of friendship”, Ibrahima Dreševića Street got a new tree line

The city company Zelenilo, in cooperation with the NGO "Ozon", within the regional initiative "Tree of Friendship", planted 69 ash seedlings in Ibrahima Dreševića Street.

This action was initiated by the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB), and 400 trees were planted in Belgrade, Skopje, Priština, Tirana, Podgorica and Sarajevo with the voluntary and logistical support of numerous local partners.

The idea of the action is to reduce CO2 emissions generated through all EFB business flights during 2019, and the goal of the action is to show that it is possible to make a difference at the local and regional level by taking individual responsibility.

Considering that due to the large amount of exhaust gases, the level of air pollution is the highest in urban areas, we chose Ibrahim Drešević Street for the realization of this action, i.e. the location in the immediate vicinity of the Main Railway and Bus Station in Podgorica.

Preserving the environment in the time we live in is a serious challenge and therefore in this way we want to raise awareness of the importance of each new tree seedling and invite our fellow citizens to protect green areas, and our daily activities will continue to work on greening Podgorica and improving the quality of life in the Capital.
