The Capital continues with the realization of activities within the regional project "Digital cities in Western Balkans"

Podgorica, the Capital, continues to implement activities within the regional project "Digital cities in the Western Balkans", which envisages development of a specific Smart City action plan for each of the five capitals of the Western Balkans.
On that occasion, another in a series of remote meetings in the form of an interactive working session was organized today. In addition to representatives of the French consulting company "Espelia" and representatives of the Capital, Head of the International Cooperation Service Ljiljana Šćepanović, City Manager Marjan Junčaj and Director of the Center for Information System Džemal Lekić, the meeting also brought together representatives of universities, state institutions, Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, start-up companies, research centers, as well as the private sector operating in Podgorica. Since the participants are relevant local associates from the public and private sector, involved in the development of strategic documents, during the working session exchanged views and experiences in the field of digitization and digital solutions, smart city concept, urban planning and development policy optimization, which directly affect performance of the city, the quality of city services and the quality of life of the citizens of Podgorica.
The interactive discussion on these topics was conducted in order to gain a realistic insight into the situation and easier understanding of challenges or shortcomings related to the Smart City ecosystem of Podgorica, and all with the aim of creating a long-term strategy of a smart city to the module of Podgorica, truly embedded in overall municipal and territorial dynamics.
We remind you that this is a Regional Technical Assistance Program, funded by the French Government through the French Development Agency (AFD), for five capitals of the region, including Podgorica, worth about EUR 600,000.00 evenly targeted at all cities.
