List of candidates for the award ″December 19″ for 2020 determined

The Mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, PhD, attended the session of the Jury for the award ceremony December 19 today.

Welcoming the members of the Jury, the Mayor expressed his gratitude for taking the time to dedicate themselves to this important task and, even in these difficult and challenging moments, to continue the beautiful tradition of award ceremony by which Podgorica is recognized.

"I am glad that this year, as part of the celebration of the capital's holidays, we will present this highest recognition. I am glad that extremely high-quality proposals have arrived over the years, and especially that the practice to be awarded posthumously this year has continued. I wish you successful work, satisfied because in this way we are sending a message of optimism for the end of this difficult and challenging year, with the hope that the next one will be better in every sense", the mayor concluded.

The award, on the occasion of December 19 - the holiday of the Capital - Podgorica, is awarded by the Capital as a public recognition for the highest merits and results achieved in theoretical and practical work and activities in all areas of human creativity that are of a special importance for the Capital - Podgorica.

In the competition for the award December 19 this year, 11 proposals were received, and at today's session, the jury determined the list of candidates who meet the formal - legal requirements for the award:

Dr. SENAD BEGIĆ, Deputy Director of the Institute of Public Health

Academician ZLATKO BULIĆ, PhD, B.Sc. biologist, museum advisor

prim. Dr. PAŠA DIVANOVIĆ, specialist in pediatrics, longtime head of the pediatric service of the Health Center Podgorica, doyen of Montenegrin pediatrics – posthumously

VARJA ĐUKIĆ, actress, director, champion of the ensemble of the Montenegrin National Theater

ZLATKO V. ZLATIČANIN, writer, poet and essayist

VUKOTA JAŠOVIĆ, President of the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors Podgorica

ZORAN LAKIĆ, PhD, academician and longtime university professor

MILORAD - MIĆO MIRANOVIĆ, longtime journalist, author, host and editor of the Radio Television of Montenegro, author of books in the field of music culture of Montenegro

architect RATIMIR RACO MUGOŠA, graduated engineer of the civil-architectural-structural department

HUSEIN - CENO TUZOVIĆ, journalist, historian, chronicler

NOVKA UBOVIĆ, pedagogical worker, mathematics teacher – posthumously

The names of the winners of the Award will be published on the website of the Capital on the eve of December 19, the holiday of the Capital, and the Decision on award ceremony will be announced by the President of the Jury at the solemn session of the Assembly of the Capital Podgorica.
