Regarding the Liberation Day, the Capital donated funds for the needs of health institutions and social welfare institutions
14/12/2020The Capital has decided to donate funds for the needs of health institutions and social care institutions regarding the Liberation Day of Podgorica. On that occasion, Mayor Ivan Vuković, PhD, President of the Capital Assembly Đorđe Suhih, PhD, and Deputy Mayor, Dr. Slađana Vujačić, with associates, held a meeting today with representatives: Dr. Saša Radović of the management of the Institute of Children's Diseases, Dr. Vesna Mitić-Lakušić and Darko Nikčević of the Institute for Emergency Medicine and Vaselj Dušaj of the PI Office “Komanski most”.
The donated funds will be used for arranging the exterior of the Institute for Children's Diseases, building a children's playground, as well as reconstructing and installing new lighting. For the needs of the Institute for Emergency Medical Aid, financial resources have been allocated for the purchase of 1000 protective suits for health workers of this institution, as well as the equipping of work premises. PI Office Komanski most, after arranging the traffic infrastructure, thanks to the contribution of city companies, will get a fully arranged space around the institution, which will make the stay of users, but also the work of the staff of this institution more pleasant. In addition, protective visors have been prepared for the needs of this institution, as part of personal protective equipment.
On that occasion, Mayor Vuković pointed out that this is a way for the Capital to thank health institutions for their contribution to preserving the health of citizens, especially in light of the fact that the fight against the coronavirus epidemic is a special challenge.
"Today, we had the pleasure to host representatives of the management of the Institute for Children's Diseases, the Institute for Emergency Medical Aid and the PI Office Komanski Most in the Capital. It was an opportunity to thank these people and their colleagues, first of all for everything they do for all of us, especially in the new circumstances during the fight against coronavirus. We took the opportunity to express our full support for their efforts to improve the working conditions of employees in these institutions at the management level. A part of the funds that we did not spend this year on what was planned, we redirected for these purposes and committed to provide even more support next year in order to create optimal working conditions for health workers and people who provide social service for those who need it the most'', Mayor Vuković said and added that he was proud of their efforts and commitment, and that he would always have partners and friends in the city administration, guided by the same idea of social interest.
The President of the Assembly of the Capital, Đorđe Suhih, PhD, pointed out that this is an area that indicates the level of development of the society as a responsible community.
"These are areas where the level of civilization and humanity of a society can be seen. One can see a social responsibility and seriousness with which a society treats the most endangered segments. First of all, I want to thank them for all their dedication to the quality and scope of their services that they have provided to service users in these difficult times. Also, we wanted to contribute to the fact that they save themselves in these difficult times, because without them there is no provision of adequate services, but at the same time to help the conditions in which they work. By creating better conditions, we will enable them to preserve themselves, but also to provide a better quality of services to their customers. It is a vulnerable segment of this society, and I can state that the Capital has adequately reacted and done everything in its competence, and it can be said that we went a little outside that framework and tried to help more by understanding that everyone is in some problems. The capital should still be the carrier and indicator of how to react in these situations, and I think that the executive power of this capital has shown that‘’, Suhih concluded.
We remind you that since the beginning of this year, the Capital and city companies have allocated financial resources in the amount of EUR 76,000 for the purchase of respirators for the needs of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, as well as the purchase of medical uniforms. We participated in the reconstruction of the COVID clinic of the Health Center in the settlement of Tološi. By solving the long-standing property and legal problem within the Clinical Center of Montenegro and handing over housing units to families who lived in this area, preconditions were created for the construction of a new Emergency Center, which our citizens have been waiting for years. Regardless of the fact that the creation and implementation of health policy is not within the competence of local governments, the Capital, as a responsible institution, believes that improving living conditions for patients or users, as well as the work of health or social workers is a general social interest to which we will be equally committed in the coming period.
