Stari Aerodrom got a new park intended for all generations: Children's playground, sports polygon, chess tables and table tennis new facilities in Aerodromska Street
18/12/2020The Mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, PhD, and his associates visited the newly built park at the settlement of Stari Aerodrom and on that occasion expressed special satisfaction that he had the opportunity to hand over a new park of 6,000 m2 located in Aerodromska Street to fellow citizens living in that part of the city.
"The park, with a new sports ground, is adapted to all age categories. This investment is worth a total of EUR 230,000, and the most important thing is that the new facilities will significantly improve the quality of life in this part of the city", Vuković emphasized.
"Due to the rapid infrastructural development of Podgorica in the last fifteen years, we have lost a part of the green fund, so this city administration is trying to make up for lost time and to provide the capital with those facilities that were missing in the previous period. I can say with pleasure that we have built 4 new parks this year, and that the construction of the fifth one is soon to be finished", Vuković said, announcing such and similar projects for next year as well.
"I am very proud of the performance of our colleagues from the company Zelenilo (Greenery), but we must not forget other colleagues who have proven themselves in this project, primarily people from the Housing Agency, Communal services and colleagues from Putevi (Roads). I call on the local community, especially younger fellow citizens, to preserve this area, so that money would not be spent on repairs, but so that young and old in other parts of the city in the coming period receive such and similar content. My heart is fullfield and it is not very likely that there is a better way to mark the day of the city", Vuković concluded.
The mayor also announced the beginning of works on the construction of a park in the settlement of Zabjelo in 27. mart Street.
"The decision was made on the basis of the fact that that part of the city does not have such content and I reckon that if Zelenilo works at this pace, we will get a new park in Zabjelo in February", Vuković pointed out and reminded that works are being carried out in Tološka šuma on the construction of the most modern sports and recreational zone in Podgorica.
"It is a project that we are implementing in cooperation with ŽKK Budućnost Bemax, which is worth over EUR 800,000 and the idea is for works in that area to be completed in the next few months, and at the same time to finish what we started in Piperska Street in Zagorič" Vuković said, adding that the idea of the city administration is that such facilities, to a greater or lesser extent, will be given to Zlatica, Masline, Tološi and those parts of the city in which there are no landscaped park areas and polygons for now and such are fewer now.
On that occasion, the PR of the city company "Zelenilo", Milica Vukčević, pointed out that this is a green area with numerous contents that is intended for all generations.
Zelenilo has made great efforts this year to build as many green spaces, children’s playgrounds and parks as possible. In that sense, today we are at the settlement of Stari Aerodrom in order to give all generations of our city, i.e. the residents of the Stari Aerodrom, one area that will have facilities for all generations literally. From the contents, this area got a playground, ie a multifunctional device on a tartan surface, a sports ground for recreationists, a table tennis table, as well as chess.
A didactic path was created for the youngest so that they could develop their motor skills.
"What is interesting and different, is that we have created a didactic path that is drawn with children's motifs, where the youngest children will be able to show their creativity and develop their motor skills. In the next period, we will continue to organize the Capital and work on improving the living conditions of our citizens", Vukčević concluded.
