Construction of a new park in Zabjelo has begun; On 5,000m², children's playground, sports polygon, athletic track and park for pets

The Mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, PhD, with his associates, visited the beginning of works on the construction of the park in 27. mart Street in Zabjelo today and on that occasion pointed out that the new park area will cover 5, 000m² and will have facilities such as a playground for the youngest, sports ground, athletic track and park for pets.

"Today, we are in the streets of 27. mart and Ilije Plamenca in Zabjelo to announce the construction of another park. So, in this area, by March, if the weather conditions serve us, a completely new park area will be formed on 5,000 m², with some facilities that we have not had so far in the capital, such as a pet park. In addition, one part of the park will be dedicated to the youngest, like what we had the opportunity to see in Stari Aerodrom yesterday, and we will also have a sports polygon that this part of the city lacks and we will get an athletic track for recreationists. So, in this area, thanks to the configuration of the terrain, we will get contents for almost all generations - recreationists, children and pet owners", Mayor Vuković said.

The mayor reminded that, although the negotiations on land expropriation did not proceed as planned, it was decided to build the park on plots owned by the Capital and fellow citizen Vladimir Bata Đurović, who gave his consent for the construction of the park.

"This is a promise we made more than half a year ago and you are aware that a petition was launched by citizens living in this part of the city, and we acted as a responsible city administration, completed the project and started preparing the land in the part concerning the settlement of property relations, since one part of this plot is in private ownership", the mayor said, adding that the procedure did not go according to the planned dynamics.

"However, we no longer wanted to wait for the realization of such an important project to be questioned, so we decided to start the realization of this project and I can say that in some three months we will get a modern park in Zabjelo. Colleagues from Zelenilo will try to use the nice weather as possible to complete the work on the construction of a new park in Zagorič, and immediately after the New Year we will start the realization of another project of this type, and that is the construction of the park in Konik. Our idea is that by the end of the mandate of this city administration, every part of the city will receive such and similar contents. However, the value of this project is EUR 245,000'' Vuković concluded and thanked the owner of the plot, Vladimir Bata Đurović, for cooperation and consent for the construction.
