Vešović: Investments at the Stari Aerodrom worth 20 million approximately

Today, the Deputy Mayor of Podgorica, Časlav Vešović, visited the construction site of the new Veljko Vlahović Boulevard at the Stari Aerodrom, where he stated that this important investment in traffic infrastructure is being realized in accordance with the planned dynamics. He expressed satisfaction with the results achieved by the city administration in the last year, emphasizing that the implementation of the ambitious budget plan exceeded expectations, which created a precondition for the smooth implementation of capital investments, but also for providing and improving certain services and facilities in Podgorica making it more comfortable and beautiful.

"As a deputy mayor whose main preoccupation is the capital development of the city, within which investments in traffic infrastructure are, of course, one of the priorities, I can say that I am proud of the achieved results. Although we were mainly focused on the outskirts of Podgorica, starting from the goal of turning transit routes into boulevard roads, we did not neglect the city boulevards either. "I believe that this project and this investment convincingly testifies to that, because today, in the company of our partners from the Public Works Administration and the company "Tehnoput", which is performing works on Veljko Vlahović Boulevard, we are witnessing dynamic and quality work", Vešović said.

The boulevard will be two kilometers long and will have six traffic lanes. On some sections, it will be close to 50 meters wide.

"This is not the only investment in traffic infrastructure in this micro-locality. Not far from here, we are building Zmaj Jovin Boulevard, which is worth EUR 1.6 million, and also, in the immediate vicinity of this location, we are completing the realization of the investment in the Home for the Elderly, so that the total investment in this area is close to EUR 20 million", the deputy mayor emphasized.

He says that this does not stop the ambitions of the city administration when it comes to improving traffic in Podgorica.

"The new roads increase the frequency of traffic, but our wish is to reduce traffic congestion through the project of modernization of public transport, and we will work to that end during the next year. Our plan is to provide new buses, but also to improve stationary traffic through the construction of new parking spaces in the models of public-private partnership, which we are already developing in the Capital's administration", the deputy mayor said.

The construction of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard began by the end of October, the deadline for the completion of works is 30 months, and the total value of the investment is EUR 4.6 million.
