New Romanian ambassador visits the Capital: Intensification of economic cooperation between Podgorica and Romanian cities agreed
22/02/2021Mayor Ivan Vuković, Ph.D., talked today with the newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to Montenegro Matei Viorel Ardeleanu, with whom he agreed to intensify economic cooperation between Podgorica and Romanian cities, as well as jointly create new models and platforms for strengthening future relations.
During the meeting at the city administration headquarters, the benefits of the Smart City concept were discussed, and the Mayor especially presented the business potentials offered by the business zones in Podgorica, as a projected strong impetus for further development of the city.
It was stated that a significant space for the improvement of cooperation exists in the domain of the tourist economy, and the idea of twinning Podgorica and the Romanian city of Cluj was also discussed.
Ambassador Ardeleanu expressed Romania's readiness to provide concrete support to Montenegro in the field of European integration at all levels, in order to speed up the process.
The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the current health situation caused by the corona virus and agreed that all-inclusive vaccination of the population is necessary.
