Secretariat for Culture and Sport of the Capital supported “Nikšić Beer Rocks: A song for Society” project

Recognizing that, due to the COVID 19 epidemic, Montenegrin music performers have been largely deprived for almost a year of the opportunity to earn income through performances and their regular activities and thus provide a livelihood for themselves and their families, the Capital City of Podgorica and the Secretariat for Culture and Sports supported the implementation of the project "Nikšić Beer Rocks: A Song for Society" which aims to affirm and promote the Montenegrin music scene, through organizing and recording the performances of selected domestic performers, which will then be broadcast via electronic media.

The project is designed so that all factors involved in the realization of the concert, from performers, musical accompaniment, through technical support and video production, receive a fee for their participation in the programs, which provides direct support to the sector that is particularly exposed to the negative effects of the corona virus pandemic. The intention of the organizers, the company "MIKA PROART", is that the project initially lasts three months, during which each Sunday would be broadcast one of a total of 12 concerts, in which will perform: Isak Šabanović, Marijana Zlopaša, Crveno I crno, Neon, Marija Božović, Ivana Martinović Popović, Nina Žižić, Andrea Demirović, Božo Bulatović, Bane Nedović, Andrijana Božović and Danijel Alibabić.

The Secretariat for Culture and Sports, recognizing the importance of the project and the complex position of all actors operating within the music scene, decided to support its implementation by covering the cost of fees of all 12 contractors who will perform during the three months of project implementation.

We note that the Secretariat for Culture and Sports has implemented and supported a large number of activities during the previous year which significantly contributed to the preservation of the dynamism of the cultural scene during the pandemic, as through the organization of almost all planned activities and manifestations from the annual Work Program of the Secretariat, as well as financial and logistical support of a number of manifestations, programs and initiatives.
