Electronic tickets exceeded expetations: A large number of tickets worth over € 100,000 sold in one month

The electronic ticket for public city transport was put into operation at the end of July and has been available to all citizens of Podgorica ever since. As a unique ticket that enables the connection of services, it aroused great interest among fellow citizens, so that in a very short time a total of 938 monthly tickets (€ 26,685) and a total of 87,412 daily tickets (€ 75,539) were sold, which is above the expected number.
We are pleased that the first step in the modernization of public transport in Podgorica, has already experienced great success at the very beginning. By introducing an electronic ticket that is convenient and economical for users, we have encouraged citizens to perform daily trips and obligations by using regular transportation.
The next phase will include further steps in the process of modernization of public transport and refers to the announcement of a public call for the introduction of new lines, as well as the purchase of new buses.
We remind you that in the previous period, the Capital, in cooperation with the German Development Agency for Economic Cooperation and Development - GIZ, worked on a model of modernization of public transport, which resulted in a pilot project of digitalization of urban traffic and the introduction of electronic maps.
Please note that with one purchased ticket, several buses can be used, regardless of whether they are different carriers, in the time period for which the ticket was issued. Please note that the ticket can be one-way (100 minutes), daily and monthly and is valid for city and suburban transport in Podgorica.
The price of a one-time ticket is € 0.90, daily € 3, monthly: € 30 for workers, € 25 for pupils and students and € 20 for pensioners. Please note, the monthly ticket can be purchased on any date of the month and is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.
