A construction of a new sports and recreational zone in Tološka šuma worth over € 800,000 has begun

The Mayor of Podgorica Ivan Vukovic, PhD, with his associates and the director of the Women's Basketball Club Budućnost Bemax, Zoran Vujičić, today marked the beginning of works on the arrangement of the sports and recreational zone in Tološka šuma with a symbolic planting. This is a long-awaited project worth over € 800,000, which realization will give this part of the city a modern sports infrastructure with numerous contents for recreationists and athletes.

"The capital, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Club Budućnost-Bemax and the company Bemax, has embarked on the realization of another capital project that is extremely important not only for the citizens of this part of the city, but also for the entire  Podgorica. This is the reconstruction of the second part of the Tološka šuma, which stretches from Baku Street to Tološi, so that very soon on an area of over 30,000 m2 we will get the most modern sports and recreational zone, not only in Podgorica but also beyond. The total value of this project is over € 800,000 and we will, although the deadline is one year, I am sure in a much shorter time we will get a new trim trail, pedestrian trail, bike path, children's playground, two basketball courts under the spotlight and a small catering facility. This entire area will be covered by a hydro system and a WI-FI signal, which creates the conditions for a full day stay in the nature of our fellow citizens. We know what the space looks like at the moment, it makes us even more satisfied that we will get a true ornament of Podgorica in a short time ", Vuković pointed out,

Mayor Ivan Vukovic, PhD, reminded of the realization of successful projects in partnership with the company Bemax and thanked for the support so far.

"Thanks to this partnership in the previous year, we got a magnificent Bemax arena, and I, as mayor, have no choice but to thank our partners and express my belief that this partnership will last for the next 20 years, and hopefully longer," said Vukovic and added that the city administration, together with partners, will do its best to hand over this area to our citizens for use as soon as possible.

Noting that Podgorica changes its appearance every day and gets new contents, Mayor Vukovic announced that Baku Street will be opened in a few days in the immediate vicinity of the Toloska šuma, which the city has been waiting for for 20 years.

The President of the Women's Basketball Club "Budućnost Bemax", Zoran Vujačić, expressed his gratitude to Mayor Vuković, as a former athlete who recognized in ŽKK Budućnost Bemax partners for the realization of this idea.

"Shortly after signing the agreement with the Capital on public-private partnership, today we are here to mark the beginning of works on this valuable infrastructure facility, both for the city and for our country," Vujicic said

. He reminded of the numerous successes of ŽKK Budućnost Bemax in the last few years, which have positioned them as a leader in the region. Vujičić expressed satisfaction that in the last few days alone, over 150 boys and girls have been enrolled in the club's training process.

"I think that this facility will be completed in a short time, knowing the company Bemax, I think that they will do everything in their power to ensure that the project is planned on the spot," concluded Vujicic, adding that everyone will be content with Bemax park to be free for use by citizens, and to expect that recreationists and athletes will make maximum use of future contents.

The representative of the company Bemax, Jovana Vuksanović, expressed her satisfaction in front of that company that they are part of this very important and valuable project. "A new modern sports and recreational zone with all the facilities will be built here in a very short time. It is planned to build a bicycle path, a trim path, pedestrian paths, a trim bar and two basketball courts, "said Vuksanović, adding that the entire project will be illuminated by public lighting, so it will be possible to use this zone in the evening.

The length of the trim trail is 840 meters, bicycle path is 750 meters, and within the project, pedestrian path over 900 meters long will be built. There will be a trim bar in the northeast zone, and in the immediate vicinity there will be a zone for the youngest visitors, a zone with children's playgrounds and concrete paths for scooter riding and a bicycle. Along the trim track, there will also be stations equipped with exercise equipment.

Vuksanović emphasized that Bemax, as a socially responsible company, will strive to complete the works as soon as possible and bring this space to its intended use.
