Most parts of Podgorica received new waste sorting containers
16/09/2020Podgorica has so far received over 400 new containers for dedicated waste sorting. So far, 110 semi-underground containers have been installed at 74 locations, as well as 19 dedicated containers (with two bags), while in the locations where due to the lack of space or the presence of underground installations it was not possible to install semi-underground, 285 metal and plastic containers were installed. In the following days, the installation will continue at other locations that were previously tested.
We remind you that the project of sorting waste at the place of origin – primary selection began in March 2019. The “dry part“ of waste includes: paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and glass. “Wet part“ of waste is food residues, garden waste, hygiene products, substances of organic origin (except the edible oils and fats).
Also, we remind citizens of the dash on the containers featured stickers indicating whether it is intended for disposal of the dry or the wet waste. Blue, above – ground containers or semi – underground with a blue lid are intended for the disposal of the dry waste, and metal above – ground and semi – underground with a green lid for the disposal of the wet part of the waste.
By acting together and respecting the concept of waste sorting, we are making a small but extremly important step in the further chain of waste management.
All this aims to protect the life of the enviroment and preserve nature for us and future generations.
