The Government, The Capital and the Chamber of Commerce will assist companies which buildings burned in a fire in Karabuško polje

The Mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, Ph.D., the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Vlastimir Golubović, and the President of the Government’s Commission for the assessment of damage from natural disasters, Marija Vučinović, visited the facilities of DADI and TV CENTER ĐEČEVIĆ today which were burned in yesterday's fire in Karabuško polje and on that occasion promised the owners of these companies help.


Mayor Vuković said that, although the fire largely destroyed the facilities of companies located in the territory of the Municipality of Tuzi, and which have registered their activities in Podgorica, the city administration will in the coming days consider all possibilities to help the companies DADI and TV CENTER ĐEČEVIĆ to maintain their economic activities and start the recovery as soon as possible due to the difficult and unpredictable situation that befell them.


The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, Vlastimir Golubović, emphasized that the Chamber of Commerce takes care of its members even in a regular circumstances, and in these extraordinary circumstances, he expressed satisfaction that the Mayor of Podgorica Ivan Vuković and Minister Marija Vucinovic responded to his invitation to go to the scene in order to jointly express solidarity with the representatives of the companies and their employees.


"This is a matter of a great material damage, but the most important thing is that all employees were evacuated on time and that no human lives were endangered, and it is also especially important that injured firefighters feel good today and in such a situation we must all be satisfied," Golubović emphasized adding that at the session of a steering committee in the coming days, the Chamber of Commerce will give recommendations to the Capital and the Municipality of Tuzi in whose area these facilities are located, to the Government of Montenegro, as well as to the Investment and Development Fund and banks, for approving new soft loans and moratorium on existing loans, in order to return the activities of these companies as soon as possible. Golubović said that it is important to save every job, because about 200 employees work in these two companies, and he expressed his belief that with the support from all levels, he would ensure that the activities of these companies start as soon as possible.


Marija Vučinović, the President of the Government’s Commission for the assessment of damage from natural disasters, pointed out that the Government of Montenegro, in accordance with its capabilities, will help as every time so far when such disasters have befallen us. "The most important thing is that there were no human casualties, but the material damage is huge, and we will launch an initiative to rehabilitate this warehouse and help these people so that employees can return to their jobs as soon as possible," Vučinović concluded.


The owner of the DADI company, Muarem Muratović, thanked everyone who helped in these difficult moments, emphasizing that the most important thing was that there were no serious injuries or loss of human life. Certainly, huge material damage was caused, because the headquarters of our company is here, which supplies fourteen stores with over 170 employees, but tomorrow we will reassign all employees to other jobs", concluded Muratović.


The representative of the TV CENTER ĐEČEVIĆ company, Amir Đečević, announced that the fire had spread from the neighboring building to the Đečević company building as well. "We did not expect that to happen, the material damage is great, both on the facility and in the destroyed goods. We sincerely hope that we will have information soon and that we will be able to come out stronger from this." This is a company that has existed for over 50 years and we have accepted this as a new challenge and we hope that we will successfully realize it", said Djecević and thanked everyone who helped and who offered to help in this difficult situation when help is most needed.
