The Capital allocated funds for the support of NGO projects this year as well
13/10/2020The Mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, PhD, signed an agreement with non-governmental organizations within the new cycle of support for initiatives and projects of non-governmental organizations from the territory of Podgorica.
"This is a very important project for the Capital and we are extremely proud to continuously provide support to projects that are important for the community, and which are carried out by non-governmental organizations, some of which we already have traditional cooperation with, so we can talk, not only about partnership, but also about friendship ", Vuković pointed out, emphasizing that this year, as well as last year, the amount of those funds is EUR 50,000. That was enough to reward or support the projects of eight non-governmental organizations, and what makes us especially happy is that these are projects that deal with important social issues, address issues of vulnerable, marginalized social groups and it is important that the range of topics is very wide", the mayor of Podgorica pointed out.
Vuković said that these are some of the most important topics of our society, especially having in mind this challenging period in which we are. "We are extremely pleased to be able to support such initiatives, because we know that they mean better chances and better prospects for a number of our fellow citizens and I want to assure you that the Capital will be there for you in the coming years because we respect what you do as it is the mission of the non-governmental sector - to be supportive and to be corrective where necessary", the mayor emphasized, adding that the Capital remains open to all initiatives and ideas, as well as projects both within this cycle and within some other initiatives. He finally expressed his belief that these projects will be successful and that there will be additional legitimacy for our kind of support of the Capital, emphasizing that the Capital, if possible, will try to increase allocations this year, despite financial and other circumstances on this basis.
